Quicksteps Doncaster is a long-established retailer supplying schoolwear, sportswear, workwear, and trophies to local families, schools, sports clubs, and businesses. While the business had strong community ties, its online presence didn’t match its in-store reputation and wasn’t generating enough online sales.
7 Degrees Media was engaged to design and launch a new e-commerce website that could handle both direct-to-consumer purchases and larger organisational orders, while improving the customer experience and brand perception.
Objectives
- Create a modern, easy-to-use online shop for multiple product categories.
- Provide customisation options for embroidery, printing, and trophy engraving.
- Optimise for mobile shoppers, who represent a significant share of the target audience.
- Integrate secure payment and shipping options including click-and-collect.
- Improve SEO performance for local and category-specific search terms.

Our Approach
1. Discovery & Planning
We began by mapping out Quicksteps’ full product range — from school uniform bundles to trophy designs — and identifying the top revenue-driving categories. The plan included separate navigation flows for everyday customers and bulk buyers such as schools or sports clubs.
2. E-Commerce Platform Build
We built a fully responsive WooCommerce site with:
- Clear category segmentation for Schoolwear, Sportswear, Workwear, and Trophies.
- Product customisation fields for logo placement, colour choices, and engraving.
- Stock and inventory control for accurate availability online.
- Secure checkout with card payments, PayPal, and in-store collection options.
3. UX & Conversion Optimisation
To encourage purchases, we implemented:
- A mega-menu navigation for quick category access.
- One-click add-to-cart from product listings.
- Upsell and cross-sell modules (e.g., suggesting socks or caps with uniform orders).
- Persistent cart across sessions to reduce abandonment.
4. Copywriting & SEO
We created unique, keyword-rich descriptions for all main categories, optimised for:

Meta descriptions, image alt tags, and structured data were applied to improve organic search results.
