The challenge
Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre is an outdoor adventure and activity destination in South Yorkshire, offering experiences for young people, schools, community groups and organisations.
With a fantastic range of facilities, activities and experiences on offer, the opportunity was clear: to raise awareness, reach new audiences and turn more interest into bookings.
As a charity-led organisation, Hesley Wood also needed a marketing approach that made the most of available resources, balancing creativity with cost-effective activity and measurable results.
That's where 7 Degrees Media came in.
Our approach
We worked closely with the Hesley Wood team to deliver a joined-up marketing approach, combining strategy, content, design and digital advertising to help the centre reach more people and generate revenue.
Rather than treating each marketing channel separately, we focused on creating a consistent presence across multiple touchpoints, making it easier for potential customers to discover Hesley Wood, understand what's on offer and take the next step towards booking.
Email marketing that drives action
We developed engaging email marketing content designed to keep Hesley Wood in front of its audiences, promote activities and encourage enquiries and bookings.
From campaign messaging and creative design to clear calls to action, the focus was on making every email purposeful, accessible and engaging.
Creative design and content
We produced marketing materials and creative assets to showcase Hesley Wood's experiences, communicate key messages and support promotional campaigns.
The aim was simple: make the centre's marketing look as exciting as the experiences it offers.
Social media marketing
We created social media content to help build awareness, promote activities and maintain a consistent, engaging presence.
By combining strong visuals with approachable, audience-focused messaging, we helped bring the Hesley Wood experience to life online.
Google Ad Grant management
For charities, Google's Ad Grants programme provides a valuable opportunity to reach potential customers through search advertising.
We supported Hesley Wood with Google Ad Grant account management, focusing on relevant search opportunities, campaign performance and making effective use of the advertising available to eligible charities.
Photography that tells the story
Great experiences deserve great photography.
We provided photography to capture the people, places and experiences that make Hesley Wood special, creating an authentic library of imagery for use across digital marketing, social media and promotional materials.
Marketing with a charity mindset
Working with a charity means understanding that every pound matters.
Our approach focused on practical, sustainable marketing that supported Hesley Wood's wider objectives while helping the organisation generate income to support its activities and future development.
The results
£42,000+ in revenue generated in just three months.
The initial partnership demonstrated the value of bringing creative content, digital marketing and commercial thinking together.
Through a coordinated approach across email, social media, search advertising, design and photography, Hesley Wood generated more than £42,000 in revenue during the first three months of our partnership.
More importantly, the work helped establish a stronger foundation for ongoing marketing, with creative assets, campaign activity and a more consistent approach to reaching potential customers.
More than just marketing
For us, the best partnerships aren't about producing content for the sake of it. They're about understanding an organisation, identifying opportunities and doing work that makes a difference.
Our work with Hesley Wood is a great example of how thoughtful, joined-up marketing can help charities and community organisations reach new audiences, generate income and make a bigger impact.
Great experiences. Better marketing. Real results.
